Rules.
General
1. This is mature forum and many characters will be adults. That being said, there will undoubtedly be some degree of not only coarse language used but also "adult situations." While we allow both profanity and sexual activity, we ask that all adult threads be marked with an "M" so as to warn others of their content. Profanity should be used only when necessary in the context of your character.
2. This is not a cyber sex site. While we do not ban sex on the boards we will be watching for those who are simply here to use it to get their "jollies" so to speak. Those individuals will be banned
3. The administrative team does not allow for acts of harassment or stalking, and will take any accusations of this nature seriously and will ban anyone found to be engaging in any practice of this nature.
4. Resist the urge to spasm. (Or spam.)
5. If you have any problem please feel free to contact the administrative team either through PM or the Cbox. We are friendly individuals who will be more than happy to help as we are able. Please treat us kindly and we will do the same to you.
6. The Cbox is for general OOC conversation. Please be polite and always remember that the RPer is not their character. Abuse of the Cbox will be noted by the administrative team and may result in sanctions being imposed.
7. Please make your signature a link to your character application. If you don't know how to do so, please contact an administrator and they will explain it to you.
Character Creation
[/size]1. This is a non-cannon site. There will be no Harrys, Rons or Hermiones running around. You may create a character related to one of the main characters, however any relations of this nature will receive harsh administrator scrutiny.
2. No Gary stu or Mary sue characters. Please be original and creative. This will help you in having more complex and enjoyable experience.
3. When applying for a character please be sure to post it in the correct area.
4. If an admin asks you to change something in your application please be willing to do so. Generally admins will explain their objection and will be happy to hear any counter argument you may have. We do this to try to maintain a certain degree of consistency and realism on the board. We try to be fair and will always be willing to listen.
5. Your application must be approved by 2 admins in order for you to start RPing.
6. Please feel free to pm admins when your application is complete. We will try to regularly check for new character apps, but are not omniscient. If we don't get to it immediately, it is not neglect, simply that we are genuinely busy.
7. Each character must be a distinct account. Players are not permitted to play more than one character on each account.
8. Players may have more than one account, Please keep it reasonable and ensure that all of your accounts are active. Inactive accounts and characters will be deleted.
9. Your displayed name must be your characters first and last name with an optional middle initial ONLY. No phrases or nicknames are allowed.
10. Until your application is approved the only place you are allowed to post is in the character creation section.
11. Once your application is accepted character details can't be changed without administrator permission.
12. If you already have an accepted character you do not need to put a second role-play sample. We already know how you write.
13. We currently allow magical creatures on this site, specifically werewolves and part veelas. We do not allow vampires because they are given very little discussion in the Harry Potter series. Apps of this nature will be subject to increased scrutiny.
RPing
[/size]1. God-moding is a sensitive subject on RP sites. For those of you who don't know, god-moding means taking control of another individuals character. The problem is that people generally like to have absolute control on their character. However as you do not have absolute control over what others do to you in real life (if someone decides to punch you it is unlikely that you are going to dodge it) you do not have absolute control over what happens to your character. The one stipulation upon this is that it must be reasonable. If you want to do something extreme you should contact the other player first.
1(a). If you feel another player has unreasonably god-moded you you should first ask them to alter their post, and then, if this yeilds no results, contact an admin. The admin will review the post and determine what action,if any, is necessary.
2. No killing another individual's character without their permission.
3. There is no specific character count for posts. That being said, they should generally be at least two good paragraphs.
4. Please keep your character interactions realistic. For example, no individual is going to be showing up at their mortal enemy's birthday party.
5. Have fun, that is what this site is about.
****It is not a rule, but it is highly recommended that you download "Chopin Script"**** as much of the site is written in this font. An admin can direct you to a source if you are unable to find one.
